My grandfather, John Knebel, moved from Chicago to Edmonton in 1906, when he was a young boy. Many Knebels live in the Edmonton area, particularly in or near a neighbouring town, Stony Plain. My grandfather's family originally came from near Vienna, Austria. I know that we have Knebel relatives in the Seattle area as well as in the Niagra penninsula in Ontario, Canada. My grandfather had 4 boys and 1 girl (oldest to youngest); Arnold, who moved to Chicago (from Edmonton); Norman, who eventually moved to Calgary, Alberta; Esther, who eventually moved to Vancouver, BC; my father Albert, who died in Edmonton; and Gordon, who died in Edmonton. I am a lawyer and have 2 children, Ryan and Vanessa. I will attempt to add more when I have more time. By the way, I'm wondering if this is a commercial site or whether it's hosted by a Knebel.
